My Services
Crafting unique and reliable edged tools for kitchens, workshops, and the wild. Knives are humanity’s most essential tool—they’ve shaped our world from the earliest flint blades to the most advanced powder metallurgy alloys. As vital today as they were throughout history. A well-made knife is a companion in both work and adventure.
I make tools forged with purpose, built to last.

Biography

Tim Filmer – Blacksmith and Craftsman.
I found my way into metalwork at 15 after a spark of inspiration. In 2003, I apprenticed at an ornamental blacksmith shop while training in industrial blacksmithing at TAFE under wise and patient mentors. I absorbed everything I could, earning my Certificate III in 2006 and my trade certificate in 2007.
From there, I embarked on a modern-day journeymanship, serving with the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, working in fabrication shops across mining, agriculture, horizontal directional drilling, heavy diesel, light automotive, and construction. Eventually, I returned to blacksmithing, working at one of Sydney’s last truly artistic metal shops—creating unique furniture, lighting, balustrades, gates, and artworks.
With all that experience behind me—and my natural curiosity still intact—I’m finally taking my passion for knives seriously. I’ve built a dedicated workspace at home, fully focused on knife making. After all these years, I’ve come full circle, right where I always wanted to be.
